CDM Regulation
Those involved with CDM asked the Health and Safety Executive for clear, authoritative guidance setting out practical ways of complying with the Regulations. Consequently a revised Approved Code of Practice and Guidance document was issued and came into effect on 1 February 2002. The CDM Regulations place a legal obligation on professionals engaged in construction activities to accept varying levels of responsibility for health and safety issues. It is vitally important that professionals, particularly planning supervisors, have adequate professional indemnity insurance.
