Appraisal, agency and building management
Valuing for purchase, sale, letting, investment, mortgage, rating, insurance, compensation or taxation
Negotiating for sale, purchase, leasing or auction
Managing and maintaining residential, commercial and industrial property
Building construction and surveying
Restoring and conserving old buildings or designing and constructing new ones
Managing repairs and maintenance, building pathology and remedial action
Advising on building law, regulations and control, health and safety legislation (hazardous materials) and environmental matters
Construction management
Managing construction sites or carrying out site engineering, measuring and evaluating
Estimating the overall cost of carrying out building projects and buying materials according to programme
Planning pre-contract so work is carried out in the most efficient and economical way
Estate and property management
Auctioneering, rating, taxation, property investment, portfolio management and rent reviews
Valuing for mortgages, rates, rents and inheritance tax
Facilities management, covering tangible assets, support services and people
Finance, investment and development
Advising on development, land purchase or compensation for compulsory purchase
Financial aspects of real estate, including the sale, purchase and portfolio management of investment property and the financing of real estate projects
Working with and understanding the roles of bankers, accountants, developers and major institutional investors in real estate

Working with planners to implement plans within a given timescale and budget
Quantity surveying and cost management
Traditional quantity surveying, cost consultancy, project management, contractor surveying and facilities management

Cost planning and control from design to completion and whole life costing
Rural practice
Valuation, sale and management of rural property, sale by auction of live and dead stock, forestry, farm management and rural planning
Identifying client objectives and translating them into a design brief whilst ensuring integration, monitoring and control of project contributors
