MIPIM Asia: CEM Principal speaks on sustainability at major Asia-Pacific conference
The theme of sustainability and the built environment received due prominence at the recent MIPIM Asia event which took place in Hong Kong, 10-12 November 2010.
Following an address from RICS President Robert Peto on The Value of Green, and Megan Waters from JLL on Brand and Sustainability, Dr Ann Heywood from the College of Estate Management explored the issue of Capacity Building within sustainability.
Dr.Heywood's talk outlined the need for sustainability knowledge, understanding and skills to deliver both personal and organisational development. This incorporated the requirement for skills gap analysis and the ability to identify components of learning that not only plug these gaps, but which also provide learning that is accredited and recognised on an international scale.
CEM's credentials in supporting levels of learning, ranging from foundation to expert were demonstrated as well-established and including everything from its free-to-download Sustainability publication to leading collaborative training course initiatives in conjunction with organisations like the UK-GBC and Legal & General.
The issue of sustainability in the built environment will prove increasingly important for the real estate professionals of the future and CEM was therefore pleased to have the opportunity to share its capabilities in this regard at this key international event.
