The Chartered Surveyors Livery Company’s Charitable Trust:
An essential part of the Chartered Surveyors Livery Company’s charitable activities is helping others, especially the young and in the field of education. Its charitable giving is used in a number of ways, including the adoption and support of four inner London Schools, namely:
- St Saviours & St Olaves School , Southwark
- Archbishop Tenison’s School, Kennington
- Central Foundation Girls’ School, Bow
- Robert Clack School, Dagenham
Financial support is given to all of these schools to support them in a number of ways, including funding of bursaries for students from each of school to help them through university. This year, a donation was also made to one of the schools to enable it to start a specialist music school thus transforming what the school can offer its pupils. Many students at these schools come from underprivileged backgrounds and the programme the Trust has developed to assist these young people is making a real difference.
Support is also offered to the Chartered Surveyors Training Trust. This is an educational charity dedicated to providing apprenticeship opportunities to young people aged 16-24 and which opens up the surveying profession to individuals who would otherwise be unable follow this path.
Other causes that receive support include the Guildhall School of Music and Drama, the Treloar Trust for disabled children, the Jubilee Trust and the Christchurch Youth Centre, Spitalfields.
