College policies

We have detailed policies that cover our commitments to you. Details of these can be found elsewhere, but are summarised here for your convenience:

Privacy and data protection

We are fully committed to respecting the privacy of visitors to this website. Any personal information which is given will be treated with the highest standards of security and confidentiality, in accordance with the United Kingdom Data Protection Act 1998. Our full policy can be found here.

Equal opportunities

We are committed to a policy of equal opportunities. This means that no one is treated differently for reasons of gender, age, ethnic or national origins, colour, religion, sexual orientation, gender identification or disability.

Disabilities and special needs

We are committed to equal education for all regardless of a student's special needs or requirements. We will endeavour to meet any such needs in order to give all students with disabilities an equal opportunity in education. More details can be found here.

Personal insurance

You are strongly advised to ensure that if you visit any site or undertake any work shadowing or similar activity as part of your studies you have appropriate personal insurance cover. Arranging such cover is the responsibility of each individual student – we regret that we are not able to undertake this function and cannot be held liable for any accident or injury sustained in connection with the pursuance of our courses.

Admissions policy

We are committed to promoting equal opportunities for all students. The Admissions Policy is aimed to ensure fairness to all applicants and to meet the required legal obligations and College policies. Our full policy can be found here.

Complaints policy

We are committed to providing a high quality service and maintaining effective procedures. It is our aim to settle complaints promptly, fairly and courteously in the best interests of all parties, and to address areas where improvement is needed. We are keen to ensure that the interests and well-being of all those associated with a complaint are properly safeguarded. The Complaints Policy and Procedure can be found here.

Student appeals

The College of Estate Management often has to take decision that affects you personally, perhaps to do with an admissions decision, a credit transfer claim, an academic misconduct offence or an award of a course result. All students have the right to query and then appeal on decisions made by the College. Any student who wishes to do so should read the Appeals Guidance Notes available here.
